As I mentioned in my post about choosing the right laptop bag or briefcase, having a separate, structured laptop compartment in your bag means easy access to your laptop.
This is key when you’re going through airport security. I hate pulling my laptop out and then having to wrestle it back in because the other contents of my bag have spilled into the laptop area.
Fortunately, we carry plenty of beautiful laptop bags that offer a structured compartment feature -the Melissa Beth 9-2-5 Laptop Messenger, the Jack Georges Vertical Laptop Wheeler and the JoJo Amy Laptop Tote, just to name a few.
Still, pulling your laptop out for scanning makes the airport security shuffle last that much longer. Wouldn’t it be great if you didn’t have to take your laptop out of your bag at all?
Well, the day is coming. In fact, Mobile Edge, whose retro-chic Maddie Powers Laptop Messenger Bagis one of our more popular bags, has created a line of Checkpoint Friendly TSA-approved bags that will be available this fall. The bags are designed to open in such a way that the security screeners at the airport can scan your laptop while it’s still inside the bag. Brilliant!
Once the initial design flurry is over, I look forward to seeing how the great design team who created these TSA-approved bags will turn their expertise to making these innovative and functional laptop bags pretty for the ladies.
In other words, I’m super excited to see when they make these:
look like these:
because I will be the first in line to get one!
